Borntostandout

A rebellious outcry in the quiet of tradition: Borntostandout positions itself as the perfume brand for all misfits who refuse to compromise. Creative, bold, and unapologetically provocative – each scent is a raised middle finger to the mainstream, fueled by raw olfactory power.

Fragrances by Borntostandout: The Scent of Seoul

Borntostandout is what happens when someone decides to swim radically against the current. Founder and mastermind Jun Lim grew up in South Korea’s capital, Seoul. In his view, few countries in the world are as shaped by rigid life scripts and predefined boxes. Anyone who dares to put their individuality front and center doesn’t just stand out – they simply don’t fit in. Lim’s early love for unconventional perfumes didn’t make him the cool kid – it made him the weird outsider.

At first, Lim tried to play by the rules of his homeland. He became an investment banker, wore a suit and tie every day, and lived exactly how society expected him to. But what others saw as the pinnacle of success felt like a deep freeze to the eccentric Korean. He changed course, quit everything, and dedicated himself to his true passion: luxury perfumes with edge and a loud, unapologetic personality.

Borntostandout: Perfumes Between Tribute and Defiance

The design of Borntostandout clearly reflects Jun Lim’s origins: each white bottle is inspired by Korean porcelain from the Joseon dynasty – a tribute to the cultural beauty of South Korea. And the red labels? A visual rebellion. A signal for radical creative freedom.

Borntostandout’s unique niche perfumes and collections carry this attitude forward. They’re not made to please the masses – they’re meant to find their people. The provocative scent names say it all: Dirty Milk strips the innocence from creamy milk notes with black pepper and musk, while Fig Porn blends ripe fruit with cedarwood and vanilla. The rest of the lineup is just as unapologetic, making its presence known on your skin.

When it comes to ingredients, Borntostandout goes the extra mile: the focus is on natural fragrance materials and rare spices. These are paired with synthetic molecules that safely and sustainably reproduce the scent of animalic notes or even toxic oils. A clear vision, executed with precision – earning Borntostandout a well-deserved spot on your fragrance shelf.
