"Melon has always been a part of my life. Growing up in Spain, it sat on the table all summer long. Thick slices of melon, their juice running down my hands before I could wipe it away. Its scent reminds me of endless afternoons with nothing to do, no school, no responsibilities. Nothing to do but eat melon and wait for the heat to break. Back then, melon meant being a child who hadn't yet learned how to behave.

Decades later, I encountered melon again. I was a young perfumer traveling through Southeast Asia, wandering the night markets long after sunset. Even at midnight, the heat of the day was still palpable. It hung heavy in the air, seared deep into the asphalt. Flowers, smoke, fruit, piled up under the light of individual light bulbs. And somewhere in the middle of it all, I rediscovered that familiar sweetness of my childhood. Only this time it was more intense, juicier, more seductive. A sweetness that belongs to people who stay awake far too long and do exactly what they feel like doing. Radiant freshness turns into sticky sweetness. Refreshment turns into pure addiction. At some point, you stop merely wanting it and start needing it.

MELÓN MALO is for all those who never truly grew up. For those who feel most alive at night. For everyone who still craves the things they were once told they should give up.
